Are there any restrictions on where I can take the vehicle?

Mrs Plum can go anywhere in the UK and Europe as long as she is driven on properly made roads and the destination is agreed by Buckingham Campervans Ltd.

Can I take my pet?

Probably – subject to agreement with us. There will be a £50 charge for pet-cleaning at the end of your hire.

What is the excess required by the insurance?

There is a £500 excess on all claims for drivers aged 25 – 75

For drivers outside of this age range, the excesses are as follows:

  • Drivers aged 21-22 & 76-79 = £1,000 Excess
  • Drivers aged 23-24 = £750 Excess

How many can travel in Mrs Plum?

She sits and sleeps four people.

Is the vehicle easy to drive?

You do not need a special licence or specific experience to drive our California Ocean. Although it is larger than most cars, the driver assist features such as the parking sensors and rear view camera make manoeuvring straightforward.

Are there any restrictions on who can drive the vehicle?

Yes. The standard insurance excess of £500 applies to drivers between the ages of 25 and 79. Drivers under the age of 25 and over 79 may be able to drive Mrs Plum – but there will be a higher excess – please contact us to discuss this. There are some country restrictions – please contact us.

I have points on my licence. Can I still drive?

The standard insurance is limited to six points however it may be possible to agree a higher excess with the insurance company. Please contact us to discuss further.

Does the vehicle have electric and water hook-up capability?

Yes, we provide a 14 metre electric hook up cable and a 14 metre food grade hose for water.

Where is Buckingham Campervans based?

We are based in North Buckinghamshire, about seven miles south of Buckingham.
